Glencoe Blotter: Burglary, Domestic Battery, Theft, Driving Issues

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 14

Burglary: Between 8 a.m. on Feb. 12 and 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, a resident reported missing items from a home in the 300 block of Hawthorn Avenue. Items included an Apple MacBook computer, a pearl necklace, a cell phone and silver-plated dishes. The total estimated loss is $1,600. The victim believes the offender entered through a sliding glass door.

Suspended Driver’s License: A 22-year-old from Waukegan was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and with failure to yield to a pedestrian. The driver hit a 27-year-old woman from Chicago at the corner of Vernon Avenue and Temple Court at 9:18 a.m. The pedestrian incurred minor injuries and refused ambulance transportation. The 22-year-old was released on a $1,500 D-bond. His court date is March 29.

Feb. 21

Domestic Battery: An argument at the parking lot of 341 Hazel Avenue, next to The Grand Food Center, between a man and a women led to the man’s arrest at 7:58 a.m. in Winnetka. He was stopped by Winnetka police and released to Glencoe police. The 54-year-old man from Waukegan was charged with domestic battery. His court date is Feb. 27.

Feb. 22

Theft: At the intersection of Park and Greenleaf avenues, a member of the Public Works Department reported that two aluminum tubes were taken from a parkway. The estimated loss is $500.
