Tails From The Front: Be a Super Hero, and You Don't Even Need a Cape!

You always secretly wanted to be a Super Hero!  Now you can, and you don't even need a cape! A local pet rescue is making plans for its second annual Super Senior Save, and you can be part of the fun and success!  It's easy, rewarding, and can be as simple as helping drive some of the dogs or cats to the veterinarian.

Last year Young at Heart Senior Pet Rescue, Illinois' only all-breed senior pet rescue, rescued a baker's dozen of dogs and cats from a local shelter, where their age made them strong candidates for the "not much time left for these good dogs and cats" list.  Although they looked motley that day- soaked in their own urine, unkempt, in need of a serious makeover- they soon blossomed under the care of our great veterinarian and his caring staff.  Once they were declared "ready to go", they went to one of our foster homes until they were adopted.  They have all since found loving, wonderful homes.

So it's time for the next batch!  Why not take more than 13?  We need more foster homes.  Do you like dogs or cats but can't make a long-term commitment?  Fostering is the perfect solution!  You will welcome a healthy, fully-vetted dog or cat into your home, where they will reward you with unconditional love and kisses until they find a forever home.  When you foster, you are saving two lives- the life of the dog or cat you foster, and the life of the dog or cat who gets the space at the shelter that was freed up by your taking in a foster pet. 

The rescue pays for the food, any medicine, the supplies- it's a great deal!And you get to be a Super Hero to a super dog or cat that owes its life to you.  The limiting factor in saving more animals is always the amount of foster homes available.
