NTHS Grad Named District 36 Assistant Principal

Kelly Tess has been named the next assistant principal of The Skokie School.

Kelly Tess, a New Trier High School garduate, has been selected among nearly 200 applications to be the next assistant principal of The Skokie School. Her tenure will begin on July 1. Current assistant principal, Alison Hawley, will become the District's Director of Curriculum.

Tess is currently the assistant principal of Carpenter Elementary School and Franklin Elementary School in Park Ridge/Niles. Before joining that district, Tess was a sixth grade humanities teacher at Field Middle School in Northbrook, and previously worked as a fourth grade teacher at Winkelman Elementary School in Glenview and a teacher at Fort Rucker Elementary School in Alabama. 

Tess has a Master's degreee, educational leadership and a Type 75 certification from Concordia in 2012. She has a Master's degree in education from DePaul and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

"I am thrilled to be joining The Skokie School team," Tess said in a statement. "As a graduate of New Trier High School, I look forward to working with students, families, staff and community members in my new role as Assistant Principal."
