Winnetka Commission Calls for Better Communication

Commission calls for better communication between the business districts throughout the city, as well as more flower baskets along Green Bay Road.

A year-long study by Winnetka's Business Community Development Commission found that the village is in need of a better communication system between the village and its four business districts, as well as a $25,000 program to implement hanging floral baskets along Green Bay Road, according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. The recommendations were presented to the Village Board earlier this month.

The commission, according to the Tribune article, recommended creating plans to generate internal communication between the village and the four business districts, as well as creating a plan to get the business districts to communicate with each other. The study also noted that the village website needed a strong business developement section, and discussed the possiblity of hiring a public relations agency to promote Winnetka news and events.
