Skokie Playfield Public Hearing

As part of the Skokie Playfield Master Plan 0-3 year initiatives, the Winnetka Park District is working with landscape architects from the Lakota Group and the engineering firm of Gewalt-Hamilton to optimize field usage through water management re-development and re-configuration.   At the December 8, Park Board committee meeting, the Board viewed a presentation on synthetic turf options, including construction and operational costs for consideration.

Prior to the Park Board making a final determination on whether to pursue synthetic turf as part of the project, community input will be sought.  A public hearing will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 7:30 pm in the Community Room (540 Hibbard Road).

This presentation will include the following elements of the Skokie Playfield Master Plan project:

  • Estimated project costs
  • Timelines for the project

Project updates are provided regularly on the Winnetka Park District website at www.winpark.org under capital projects.  Community members interested in receiving email communication about upcoming meetings on the Skokie Playfield Master Plan are asked to email mcherveny@winpark.org.  Include Skokie Playfield Master Plan meeting updates in the subject line.
