Winnetka Police Blotter: Two Burglaries Reported on Cedar Street

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb.  22

Identity theft - A victim discovered several unauthorized charges amounting to $380.72 made on his CitiBank MasterCard. This occurred sometime on Jan. 31.

Feb. 21           

Theft - A business owner discovered an estimated $35,000 missing in funds from the business account. This appears to have occurred sometime between Dec. 10, 2010 and Feb. 4, 2012. The case is pending further investigation.

Feb. 20

Residential burglary - A victim discovered an unknown subject entered and removed items from a residence on the 400 block of Cedar Street. This occurred sometime between Feb. 18 and 20. Forced entry was observed on a first floor window. Various amounts of jewelry were taken, amounting to $18,575.

Feb. 19 

Residential burglary - A house sitter stated that someone entered and removed items from a residence on the 400 block of Cedar Street sometime between Feb. 18 and 19. Forced entry was evident on two windows. It is unknown at this time what items were taken.
