Winnetka Police Blotter: Laptop Theft, Identity Theft

The following arrest information was provided by the Winnetka Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Identity Theft

A victim discovered between Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 that an unknown offender(s) attempted to open an unauthorized credit card account using the victim's personal information, according to Winnetka Police reports. No loss was reported. 

Theft

Two male juveniles, both 16 years old from the New Trier Township, were arrested and charged with theft, according to the Winnetka Police Department. The arrests were made subsequent to an investigation of missing laptop computers taken from the school. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 4 and Jan. 3. The amount of loss is unknown at this time.
