Winnetka Blotter: Stolen Bikes; DUI Arrest

A summary of incidents reported in Winnetka from June 1-5.

The Winnetka Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please e-mail the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

June 5

Theft: A blue vintage Schwinn bicycle, valued at $900, was reported stolen from a garage in 500 block of Hawthorn Lane after entry was made through an open overhead door.

June 4

Domestic Battery: Two Winnetka men, ages 20 and 52, were charged with domestic battery after an incident in the 600 block of Hill Road. Police responded at 6:41 p.m. after a report of a disturbance.

June 2

Theft: A silver mountain bike, valued at $695, was stolen from a bike rack at New Trier High School.

Identity Theft: A resident reported unauthorized charges totaling $476 to her checking account. The charges were incurred outside the U.S. and occurred over a span of two weeks.

DUI Arrest: David Pracht, 22, of Wilmette, was arrested at Essex and Sunset roads at 6:24 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for driving an uninsured vehicle.

June 1

Theft: A blue Giant bicycle, valued at $250, was reported stolen from New Trier High School. The bike was not secured to the rack where it was parked, according to police.
