Winnetka Blotter: $15,000 Worth of Jewelry, iPad, Cameras, Baby Stroller Stolen

Theft

An emerald diamond ring and a men’s Rolex watch, valued at $15,000 total, were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Fisher Lane between June 15 and 16.

An iPad and various pieces of jewelry, valued at $13,000 total, were stolen from a home in the 600 block of Sheridan Road on July 22. 

An unsecured backpack containing a Fuji digita camera, a Nikon camera, various lenses, a light meter and straps were stolen from a home in the 300 block of Hibbard Road on July 22. The loss is estimated at $5,510.

A baby stroller base and car seat adapter, valued at $550 total, were stolen from the side yard of a home in the 200 block of Sheridan Road. 

A purse containing cash and makeup was stolen in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue between July 14 and 15. The loss is estimated at $105. 

Bike theft

An unlocked red and silver 21-speed bike valued at $200 was stolen in the 80 block of Green Bay Road on July 17. 

Shattered glass

A storefront glass in the 800 block of Green Bay Road was damaged with an unknown object between July 14 and 15, the damage is estimated to cost $250. 

A glass panel at the Winnetka Metra stop, 754 Elm St., was cracked on July 16. The damage is estimated to cost $250. 

Spray paint at park

The south perimeter wall at the end of the walkway ramp at Maple Street Park, 725 Sheridan Rd., was defaced with black and red spray paint on July 19. The damage is estimated to cost $50. 

Driving Under the Influence

Willington G. Raj, 39, of 502 Roscoe, Chicago, was arrested July 22 for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He was issued an Aug. 16 court date.
