Theft of Golf Clubs, Identity Theft

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Identity Theft 

A victim on the 200 block of Locust Rd. discovered on Feb. 25 that an unknown offender(s) made two unauthorized purchases on her Chase Visa card without her permission, Winnetka Police reports state. Both transactions were canceled and no loss was reported.

Steven L. Banks, 48, of Evanston is being charged with improper/fictitious use of license plates, according to Winnetka Police reports. He was pulled over on the 10 block of Green Bay Ave. on Feb. 27, and his court date is set for April 2. 

Theft

A victim on the 1100 block of Willow Rd. reported that between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Feb. 26, an unknown offender(s) removed a blue and yellow "Ryobi" drill, batteries and flashlight from the premises, Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss was reported at $155.

Possession of a Fraudulent I.D. 

A male juvenile, 17, from the New Trier township was cited for possession of a frauduelent I.D. card, Winnetka Police reports state. He was stopped at New Trier High School (385 Winnetka Ave.) on Feb. 13. His court date is set for March 15. 

Domestic Battery 

Margaret Kothman, 18, of Winnetka is being charged with domestic battery, according to Winnetka Police reports. The arrest was made subsequent to a 911 call investigation of a disput in progress occurring at a resicne on the 100 block of De Windt Rd. Her court date is set for March 3.

Theft

A victim discovered between Dec. 25 and Jan. 24, an unknown offender(s) removed a blue and green colored golf bag containing a variety of golf clubs from a garage on the 700 block of Foxdale Ave., Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $2100.
