Public Safety Responds to Fire in Glencoe

The fire is located at 182 Lapier Ave.

Glencoe Public Safety — along with emergency personnel from Winnetka, Highland Park and Northbrook — responded to a fire at 182 Lapier Ave. on Wed. evening at 9:26 p.m. The resident reportedly saw smoke in her upstairs bedroom and then saw a fire on her roof from the window.

The homeowner told Glencoe Public Safety that roofers were working with torches on her roof earlier in the day. The fire was quickly extinguished, although the bedroom wall and ceiling were damaged. The homeowner was not injured.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined until the investigation is complete.
