Police Make DUI Arrest on Hibbard

A resident also received a counterfeit check for a Craigslist sale in this edition of the Winnetka police blotter.

The following information is from the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Domestic battery

Daniel Benjamin Deitch, 40, of the 700 block of Green Bay Road was arrested June 23 for domestic battery.

Craigslist fraud

A woman discovered that the person who responded to her Craigslist for sale by owner post sent her a counterfeit check. The loss is more than $1,500.

Identity theft

A resident reported that someone used his name and social security number to file a fraudulent tax return. Amount of loss is unknown.

Someone opened credit cards in a resident’s name without her permission.

Traffic arrest

Corneliu John Dume, 49, of the 4400 block of Estes in Lincolnwood, was arrested at 5:30 a.m. June 26 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road for driving with a suspended license and cited for failure to signal. He has an Aug. 8 court date.

DUI

Anthony David Brown, 26, of the 1600 block of Berwyn, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. June 28 in the 400 block of Hibbard Road and charged with DUI. He was also cited for failure to signal and improper turn. He has an Aug. 1 court date.

Warrant arrest

Jeffrey D. Harris, 28, of the 200 block of Austin in Oak Park, was arrested at 4:15 a.m. June 28 in the 400 block of Hibbard Road on an in-state warrant.

Bike theft

Someone stole an unlocked boy’s green Diamondback bike and a yellow girl’s Diamondback bike from a backyard in the 500 block of Sunset Road overnight June 28. The loss is $772.

Traffic arrest

Roberto Sontay-Velasquez, 40, of the 5500 block of West Sunnyside Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. July 1 in the 400 block of Sheridan Road for driving without a valid license. He was also cited for improper passing at an intersection. He has an Aug. 1 court date.
