Police: Drunk Driver Ruins Rosh Hashanah Dinner
The driver crashed into three parked cars at a home in Glencoe.
A Villa Park man is in custody and a woman is in the hospital after the driver allegedly crashed into three parked cars at a home in Glencoe while intoxicated on Sept. 5, police reports state.
Christopher Kampert, 45, is being charged with DUI with a BAC. over .08, felony DUI, disobeying a stop sign, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police reports state.
Kampert was driving at the intersection of Old Green Bay Rd. and Fairfield Ave. when he allegedly didn't take the turn, and instead drove straight through the bushes into a home's driveway, crashing into three vehicles parked in the driveway, according to Glencoe Public Safety. Reports state that the residents of the home had visitors over for Rosh Hashanah dinner.
Everyone inside the house was unharmed, although the passenger in Kampert's vehicle was transported to Evanston Hospital in serious condition.
Kampert's next court date is set for Oct. 18.
