Northfield Police Blotter: Vandalism and Consumption by Minors

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

June 6

Insurance violation: Police stopped a 17-year-old Northfield boy at the corner of Waukegan and Winnetka roads because they had looked up his plates and discovered an old insurance violation that he neglected to have reinstated. They issued him a citation and a court date of July 23.

Consumption of alcohol by minor: Around 2:45 a.m. officers discovered a disturbance at a hardware store in the 1800 block of Willow Road (just down the street from the park). The store's plants and shrubbery had tossed around the parking lot and onto Willow Road. Police notified the key-holders and attempted to clean up the mess when they saw a male subject run from the scene. (Other officers in the area noticed a second male on the run, too.) They were successful in stopping one of them: a 16-year-old boy from Northfield. He emanated an odor of alcohol and blew a .153 on the breathalyzer. He was cited for consuming alcohol and violating the curfew. His court date is June 26.
