Northfield Blotter: DUIs and Theft

The following information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 26

Theft: employees reported a theft of $400 worth of razor blades and hair products on Oct. 16. Security cameras caught a suspect dumping the products into a bag and leaving the store, but the perpetrator seemed to be fairly camera-savvy and few identifying details could be pinpointed.

Oct. 27

DUI: Police stopped a 20-year-old Morton Grove man for driving 111 mph in a 55-mph zone at I-94 and Willow Road around 2 a.m. When they got to the car, police said they found that the driver was intoxicated. He refused the breathalyzer so no blood alcohol content was available, but he was cited for speeding and driving under the influence. He was released on a $2,000 i-bond and given a court date of Dec. 5.

Oct. 29

Criminal damage: A light tan sport-utility vehicle was eastbound around 5:45 p.m. in the 100 block of East Frontage Road when someone in the car threw a cup full of ice out the window. It struck another car and damaged the headlight. No cost estimate was available.
