Police: Purse Stolen from Unsecured Vehicle

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

A victim on the 1500 block of Edgewood Ln. reported that she discovered on April 22 that an unknown offender(s) entered her unsecured vehicle and removed a black Calvin Klein purse from the passenger seat, police reports state. The purse contained $60, various credit cards and a pair of prescription sunglasses. The amount of loss is reported to be $260. 

Theft

A victim on the 300 block of Rosewood Ave. reported that between April 22 and April 23, an unknown offender(s) removed a hood emblem from a vehicle parked in the driveway, police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $100. 

Fraud — Deception

An employee at a business on the 800 block of Elm St. reported that on April 22, an unknown offender purchased several items of clothing and presented a check for payment from a fictitious account, police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $530. 

Traffic Arrest

Jose Luis Machuca-Escobar, 28, of Chicago is being charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, police reports state. Machuca-Escobar was also cited for improper lane usage and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. His court date is set for May 10. 

Cannabis Activity 

A 17-year-old juvenile from the New Trier Township was cited for possession of cannabis, police reports state. The juvenile was a seated passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop. His court date is set for May 10.
