Credit Cards Used After Vehicular Burglary
The following reports were provided by the Winnetka Police Department.
Vehicular Burglary
On Dec. 21, a resident on the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue discovered that someone took a Tory Burch purse from her unlocked car, according to police. The purse contained a Kate Spade wallet, Ray Ban sunglasses, checks and several credit cards, police say. The credits cards were then used at multiple locations, according to the police report. Total loss is still unknown, police say.
Identity Theft
On Dec. 18, an unknown offender gained access to a Winnetka resident's email account and tried to perform a wire transfer through JP Morgan, according to police. An eBay purchase was also attempted, but nothing was reported stolen, police say.
Theft
On Dec. 19, an officer noticed that someone removed a temporary stop sign from the Forest Way and Tower roads intersection, according to police.
