ComEd: 90% Of Lost Power Restored By Thursday At Midnight

The north region served by ComEd was the hardest hit.

Most of ComEd customers who lost power because of Tuesday night's storm will have electricity by Thursday at midnight, the company estimates.

Power was restored to a majority of Winnetka households by Wednesday morning. Winnetka has its own utility service and is not powered by ComEd. Both Glencoe and Northfield, among other Chicago suburbs, are served by ComEd.

The northern region served by ComEd was most affected by the storm, said ComEd spokesperson Alicia Zatkowski.

"Where you are in the north region is our hardest hit," Zatkowski said. "Of 189,000 [customers originally without power], 137,000 are in the north region."

Zatkowski said there are more than 700 crews working to restore power to the region.
