Car Burglar Nabbed at Train Station

Winnetka police responded to a tipster Wednesday during rush-hour and arrested a man for burglarizing a vehicle in the Indian Hill Train Station parking lot.

Rush-hour commuters got an eye full Wednesday evening as Winnetka police arrested a suspected car burglar at Indian Hill Train Station.

Commander Mark Hornstein with Winnetka police said a report of a car burglary in progress was called in, along with a description of the suspect, just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Police searched the area in the 100 block of N. Green Bay Road and were able to locate the suspect based on the description and articles taken from the car in the offender's possession, Commander Hornstein said.

The offender was taken into custody and charged with felony auto burglary.

Winnetka police have not yet released the offener’s identity, Commander Hornstein said.
