Beer in the Car and a Mexican Driver's License Leads to Felony DUI

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not guarantee guilt.

Felony DUI
On Nov. 9, a stationary officer parked on Willow Road heard a crash nearby and investigated the noise, according to police. The officer found a black, Ford, SUV wedged up against a concrete median barrier on Willow, according to the report.

The Ford then left the scene and hit a nearby construction barrel before the officer was able to stop him, police say. The driver, Margarito Castrejon-Jancinto, 26, of Wheeling, only produced a Mexican driver's license and had no insurance, according to police.

Inside, two open beer bottles were also found, police say. The driver was charged with felony DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a valid license and no insurance, according to the report.

No Driver's License
On Nov. 12, officers stopped Ricardo Soto-Leon, 42, of Evanston, for driving with only one working headlight, according to police. He presented insurance but had no driver's license, police say.
