Audi Stolen from Winnetka Driveway

Stolen car

Someone stole an unlocked black Audi Q7 that had the key fob inside from the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Arbor Vitae Road between 1 and 2:30 a.m. July 18. A second, unlocked car in the driveway was also entered and the key fob belonging to that car was removed. The total loss is more than $10,000.

Fraud-deception

A resident reported on July 7 that he received a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS who demanded money. There was no reported loss.

Another resident reporting July 14 that she received a suspicious call from someone claiming to be from the IRS demanding money. There was no reported loss.

Winnetka issued a warning to residents last week about such scams.

Criminal damage

An officer discovered that between 3 and 4:40 p.m. July 15, someone used brown paint to deface the underpass at the Green Bay Trail at Pine Street with graffiti.

Laptop stolen

Someone stole a black Dell laptop worth $600 from a residence in the 1100 block of Cherry Street between 8 p.m. July 1 and 7 a.m. July 5.
