A Stolen Bike Found in a Stolen Vehicle

The following arrest information was provided by the Winnetka Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Identity Theft

A victim on the 600 block of Locust St. found that between midnight on Oct. 14 and the afternoon of March 12, an unknown offender(s) used the victim's personal identifiers to open a credit card without her permission, Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss has been reported at $2,260.68.

Shin AI. Lee, 59, of Northbrook is being charged with battery, according to Winnetka Police reports. The arrest was made on March 13 on the 700 block of Sheridan Rd. subsequent to an investigation stemming from an incident that occurred on Feb. 23. This court date is set for April 17.

A victim on the 500 block of Maple St. discovered between Feb. 28 and March 14 that an unknown offender(s) had used the victim's debit card without his permission, Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $2,952.10. 

Theft

A victim on the 200 block of Linden St. discovered that between Feb. 24 and March 8, an unknown offender(s) removed a platinum bracelet and two gold necklaces from a bedroom closet, Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss is reported in excess of $10,000. 

Theft

An employee on the 900 block of Willow Rd. discovered that between March 11 and March 12, an unknown offender(s) removed two rolls of chain link fence and twenty aluminum bars from the driveway of the store, Winnetka Police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $400. 

Theft

A male juvenile, 16, from the New Trier Township area was arrested for theft, according to Winnetka Police reports. The arrest was made subsequent to an investigation of a previous incident that occurred in Jan. The case was referred to the peer jury. 

Traffic Arrest

Maria Hogan Alvarez, 61, of Wilmette is being charged with driving with a revoked driver's license, according to Winnetka Police reports. Alvarez was also cited for use of a handheld cell phone, rear registration plate not illuminated and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, reports state. Her court date is set for April 9.

Cannabis Activity

Elvir Melkic, 18, of Chicago is being charged with unlawful posession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis, according to Winnetka Police reports. The arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop on the 1300 block of Willow Rd. in which Melkic was a seated passenger, the report states. Her court date is set for April 9. 

Disorderly Conduct

An employee on the 500 block of Chestnut St. discovered inappropriate postcards addressed to various employees while going through their recent deliver of mail, Winnetka Police reports state. The investigation is continuing. 

Burglarly — Non-residential

A victim discovered between March 15 and March 16 that an unknown offender(s) had removed has Chevrolet Tahoe from his garage, Winnetka Police reports state. The keys were left in the unsecured vehicle. The vehicle was later located in the area with an unknown bicycle in the rear cargo of the vehicle, reports state. The investigation is continuing. 

Burglary — Residential

A victim on the 500 block of Sunset Rd. discovered that between March 15 and March 16, an unknown offender(s) had removed a men's blue "Giant" Boulder bicycle from the secured garage, Winnetka Police reports state. The bicyle was later located in a stolen vehicle. The investigation is continuing. 

Traffic Arrest

Cecilia A. Marchant-Angulo, 26, of Des Plaines is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage, police reports state. The incident occurred on March 17 on the 100 block of Hibbard Rd. Her court date is set for April 9.
