$10K Worth of Jewelry Lifted, Battery Incident at Community House

$10,000 Worth of Jewelry Stolen

Jewelry valued in excess of $10,000 was reported stolen from a home in the 600 block of Prospect Avenue between Dec. 27, 2011 and Feb. 1, 2012, according to police. The stolen items include gold necklaces, several pairs of gold and diamond earrings and bracelet charms, according to police. 

Electronic Equipment Stolen from Recycling Pile

Someone was seen removing various pieces of electronic equipment from the recycling collection location at the Public Works facility, 1390 Willow Rd., between June 1 and Nov. 2. The electronic equipment was intended for recycling and the amount of loss is unkown. 

Battery

Two preteens were the victims of a battery that occurred at the Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave., between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Nov. 10, police said. Police say there were no indicated injuries. The case is still under investigation. 

Forged Check

A resident reported that someone stole one of her personal checks and subsequently forged and cashed it at 520 Green Bay Road. The loss was estimated at $150. 

Inappropriate Text Messages, Photos

A resident in the 300 block of Birch Street discovered between 10:30 p.m. and 11:05 p.m. on Nov. 8 that someone sent inappropriate text messages and photos to her iTouch computer. Police are still investigating the case. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Robert R. Kenyon, 24, of 1129 Willow Rd., Winnetka, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at 410 Green Bay Road following an additional charge stemming from a previous traffic arrest on Aug. 27. He’s been issued a Nov. 5 court date, according to Winnetka Police. 

Driving Under the Influence

Nicholas S. Tank, 23, of 6 Indian Hill, Winnetka, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, according to police. Tank was also cited for improper parking on a roadway and not having a driver’s license on him, he was issued a Nov. 30 court date, police said. 

Stop Sign Pole Damaged

A stop sign pole at Essex and Sunset roads was damaged on Nov. 11, police said. The pole appeared to have been cut and bent toward the ground. The Public Works Department was notified of the damage and the repairs are estimated to cost $100, police said. 

Traffic Arrest

Terry I. Traylor, 29, of 4275 N. 27th St., Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and parking where prohibited, police said. He was issued a Dec. 18 court date.
