Northfield Police Remember Arthur Samuels

Arthur M. Samuels, 102, of Winnetka, was born October 5, 1911 and died January 1, 2014.
He graduated from DePaul Law School in 1934 and had a law practice with his brother Leo until 1970. At age 69, he bacame an Assistant State's Attnorney for Mental Health in Cook County. He was the oldest known Assistant State's Attorney in Illinois when he retired at age 93.

"The words that come to mind when I think of Art Samuel’s, are kind and easy going," Northfield's police chief, William Lustig, wrote Patch in an email. "Art assisted many people who were struggling with mental health issues."
"Art worked closely with our Department psychologist, the late Dr. John Conlin, who viewed Art as the father of mental health law," Lustig added.
