North Shore Country Day School girls' and boys' basketball team results for the week of January 21st.

"The Raiders seem to be gaining form as the season marches on," said Coach Rashid Smith.

North Shore won a pair of games this week by an average of 30 points per contest.

On Tuesday, January 22, the boys picked up a solid win of 78-60 against conference rival Latin School of Chicago. Riley Hall, Elias Butler and Jamie Swimmer all scored double digits. Hall led the team with 22 points while Butler finished with 18 and Swimmer scored 13.

Scoring was key, but efficiency and defense won the day. The Raiders committed only 9 turnovers, and 6 players (three mentioned earlier as well as Austin Curren, Tim Morette and Ian Meyer) all shot over 45% percent from the field.  Time and again, the boys forced Latin into contested 2-point shots and secured the rebound.

On Saturday night, the boys beat Chicago Academy High School 84-39, during the last game of this year's Basketball Bash.

"The Raiders again played effectively, moving the ball, shooting high percentages, and taking care of the basketball," said Smith. "Seniors Jamie Swimmer, Riley Hall, and Austin Curren led the team in scoring, hitting their season averages despite playing limited minutes."
