The Facts about Living Kidney Donation

Most people are well informed about organ and tissue donor registration from the national and state campaigns - however, far fewer are aware that there are over 120,000 people waiting to get an organ transplant and for the urgent need for living kidney donors. 

As a result of new anti-rejection drugs and technological advances one living donors' gift can save many lives. Living donors do not need to be blood relatives, in fact, there is increasing interest in donating to strangers.
