Frank Lloyd Wright: An Oak Park Adventure

Enjoy a guided tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and
Studio as it appeared in 1909. This charming home was Wright’s private
residence and workplace from 1889 to 1909, the first 20 years of his career. In
1898 he added the studio, which he used as an architectural laboratory and from

where he designed 125 structures.  Next,
it is off to the Café Winberie for lunch. Conclude the day with a visit to
Wright’s masterpiece, Unity Temple, the birthplace of modern architecture. This
church was among his favorite commissions. Its design was unprecedented in 1905
with a cubist theme and poured concrete construction. Before heading home, take
a ride down Forest Avenue to see some of the other homes Wright designed in Oak

Park. Fee includes all entrance fees, tours, lunch, and transportation. Departs
from our Northfield location.

Pre-registration is required and the cost is $95 member; $115 non-member. Call NSSC at 847-784-6030 to register.  Website www.nssc.org.
