Annual Dinner Honoring Peggy Hamil

The Glencoe Historical Society will hold its annual dinner Friday, Feb. 22, and honor Peggy Hamil, executive director of the Glencoe Public Library. Hamil, who is retiring from the library this year, will receive the 2013 Shubart Award for Outstanding Community Service.


Cooperation between the library and the historical society goes back many years -- from the society's first meeeting at the library 75 years ago to this year's lecture series at the library that is being co-sponsored by the two organizations.


The event will be held at the Steinback Residence, 859 Valley Rd. the festivities begain at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail buffet. The special program will begin at 8 p.m. Cost is $50 per person, $60 at the door.
