A Flame Too Bright: The Life of Margaret Fuller (NSSC Lecture)
Margaret Fuller was a leading writer and intellectual in antebellum America. Ambitious and innovative, she pushed the gender boundaries of her time. She was at times an intellectual in New England, a newspaper editor in New York City, and a foreign correspondent in Europe. Yet it is not her accomplishments that stand out as much as her restless search for personal fulfillment, which ultimately led her to love, hardship, and tragedy. Her story is one you will never forget. Joyce Haworth of the College of Lake County presents the lecture.
