New Restaurant, Guildhall, Planned for Glencoe This Spring

The restaurant is backed by some big players in the Chicago restaurant scene and will feature 'seasonal American' fare.

Some Glencoe residents and Chicago-area restaurant big wigs are teaming up to open Guildhall in Glencoe this spring, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

Alec Litowitz, the founder and CEO of Magnetar Capital, and Eric Fosse, founder and CEO of Homemade Pizza, both Glencoe residents, are working with real estate developer Albert Friedman, to launch the restaurant at 694 Vernon Ave., according to Crain's. Phil Marienthal, who owned Blue Mesa and Canoe Club and Monkey Dish Bar & Grill in Gurnee will manage Guildhall, and Christian Ragano, who has cooked at Tru and NoMI, will serve as executive chef.

The 3000 square-foot restaurant is being designed by the same firm that did Girl & the Goat and GT Fish & Oyster, according to Chicago Eater. They owners are planning to use furnishings that match the historic building.
