Seleb wrote, “I am proud of my accomplishments of the past four years, in particular my leadership of the Strategic Planning Committee and completion of the district’s new strategic plan. I am confident that this plan will lead to a stronger future for the library.”

He also praised his co-worker, saying that “the staff members of the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District are the best with whom I have ever worked, and I leave the library in their capable hands.”

Before working at Winnetka-Northfield Public Library, which serves 17,000 residents on a budget of $3 million, Seleb was director of consulting and continuing education for the Metropolitan Library System in Burr Ridge.

“I want to thank David, on behalf of the entire Winnetka-Northfield library community, for his many contributions to the library district over the past four years," said Bob Sanfilippo, president of the library's board of trustees.

"David’s leadership in the development of the district’s recently adopted strategic plan was especially valuable,” he said. “We wish David much success in his new position at Indian Trails.”

The trustees meet next Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a study session, when they will discuss an interim leader for the district.

"It’ll be a definite loss to the staff," said Erin Maassen, PR and marketing director. "He is very well-liked by staff and board. I’m sure we’ll sure have a big party before he leaves."
