Harmonizers Sing Holiday Music Across the North Shore 

  • When: Friday, November 23, 2012, 5:00 pm
  • Where: Glencoe Roast Coffee, 700 Vernon Ave, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: The Harmonizers will carol from 5-5:30pm at Glencoe’s annual Light the Village Lights event. Gather at the northwest corner of Park and Vernon to hear holiday music, watch the tree-lighting ceremony, and be there when Santa Claus arrives. Light the Village Lights is sponsored by the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce.

  • Where: Northwest corner of Park and Vernon avenues
  • Why Go?: The Village of Glencoe and the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce will kick off Glencoe's Holiday Season with the annual "Light the Village Lights" After a brief program, Village President Scott Feldman will "flip the switch" and downtown Glencoe will be illuminated with beautiful holiday lights. The event will feature music by the North Shore Harmonizers, Hot Chocolate, Cookies and a Visit from Santa! 

 

Santa's Mailbox in Winnetka

  • When: Friday, November 23, 2012
  • Where: Southwest corner of Elm and Chestnut streets
  • Why Go?: Santa’s elves will sneak into Winnetka and drop off his mailbox on Friday, November 23 and will pack it up and take it home to the North Pole on Thursday, December 20. Children can drop off their letters at Santa’s designated mailbox located in the southwest corner of Elm & Chestnut (near the Post Office). Santa will personally respond to all letters received during this time period (please include name(s) and a return address). 

 

Watts Center Skate-a-Thon

  • When: Friday, November 23, 2012, 6 pm
  • Where: Watts Ice Center
  • Why Go?: Join Glencoe Park District on opening day of the 2012-13 Watts Ice Season for the annual Skate-a-Thon! Your admission fee helps to further the good work of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

 

Blackhawks Night

  • When: Saturday, November 24, 2012, 6:30 pm
  • Where: Watts Ice Center, 305 Randolph Street, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: Calling all youth hockey players: Come meet the Chicago Blackhawks' mascot, Tommy Hawk, and show off your skills on the ice! This fun evening also includes a free hockey lesson in the studio rink for players under age 12.

 

Lake Shore Unitarian Society: The "God Spot" - Does Your Brain Have One?

  • When:Sunday, November 25, 2012, 10:30 am
  • Where: Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka
  • Why Go?: Join our welcoming community for inspiration and fellowship as we explore common themes across diverse religious traditions, and reflect on living a life of integrity, meaning, and purpose. Our guest speaker this week is Rabbi Evan Moffic, Congregation Solel, Highland Park.
