Glencoe Park District Executive Director Abruptly Resigns

Resignation from Donald P. Van Arsdale was submitted Wednesday and effective that day according to a press release from the park district; at a special meeting tonight the resignation will be accepted and interim replacement named.

Glencoe Park Disrict Executive Director Donald P. Van Arsdale resigned Wednesday, on the day he submitted his resignation letter, according to a press release on the Glencoe Park District website

Van Arsdale served in the position for three years, according to the press release.

"It has been a real pleasure working with you these past three years.  I admire and hold each of you in the highest of esteem," Van Arsdale wrote in a memo to staff included in the release.

According to an article from Glencoe News, park district commissioner Hilary Lee is quoted as saying Van Arsdale was asked to resign. 

Also in the park district press release, Maxine Retsky, park district board president, said "We thank Don for his three years of service to the Glencoe Park Distrit and wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Until a replacement is identified, Steven Nagle, director of operations will serve as interim executive director and will formally be given the role at tonight's park district board meeting, the press release stated.  Van Arsdale's resignation will first formally be accepted.
