Lt. General John Rosa Presentation to the
Chicago/Midwest Citadel Alumni Association – Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Winnetka, Ill. (August 27, 2013) — Northshore native, Chuck Lawless, senior managing director with Mesirow Financial’s Investment Advisory group and a graduate of The Citadel Military College of South Carolina (Class of 1994), is hosting Citadel President,  Lieutenant General John W. Rosa, USAF (Ret.) ’73, for a meet and greet with alumnus of the Chicago/Midwest Citadel Alumni Association on Tuesday evening, September 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at 788 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Ill.  Lt. General Rosa is a distinguished command fighter pilot with an illustrious 32-year air force career and the 19th president of The Citadel. He is visiting Illinois to meet fellow alumnus and introduce the school’s Lead Plan 2012 - 2018.

The Lead Plan 2012 - 2018 is The Citadel’s strategic plan to promote leadership excellence and academic distinction. It consists of eight strategic initiatives that comprise the planning priorities for The Citadel to assist the school in meeting its mission to excel in the education and development of principled leaders. As part of the plan’s eight strategic initiatives. Lawless, an investment manager at Mesirow Financial in Chicago, president of the Chicago/Midwest Citadel Club and a board member of both The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Board and the Advisory Committee for the Center for Financial Services Education, recognized that he could help the school meet several of its objectives of enhancing the learning environment and technology at the school. Lawless decided to donate a fiduciary analytics software – fi360 – to the business school in addition to providing internship opportunities with him at Mesirow Financial in Chicago. After learning of the school’s initiative, fi360 is now working with the head of the business school to provide fi360 for the entire business school lab, so graduating cadets can enter the workforce with the knowledge of how to write investment policy and monitor investments using state-of-the-art analytic tools in order to be better prepared for jobs in the financial services industry.
