Winnetka ZBA Gives New Trier High School’s ‘Netting System’ Green Light

Winnetka trustees are expected to review the proposal in coming weeks.

Winnetka Zoning Board of Appeals voted in favor of allowing New Trier High School to put up a 50-foot netting system around a baseball backstop at the northwest corner of Hibbard and Willow roads, Chicago Tribune reported.

Some Winnetka residents raised concerns that the system could be an eyesore--the system extend a total of 160 feet in length, 100 feet of it is parallel to Willow Road and 60 feet of it is behind the home plate. The Village Board is expected to vote on the proposal in coming weeks, Chicago Tribune reported.
