Possible Cougar Sighted in Northfield
The following arrest information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Cougar Sighting
On July 28, someone reported a large cat or cougar moving eastbound on the 200 block of Churchill Street, according to police. Responding officers were unable to locate an animal, police say .
Displaced Raccoon
On July 26, someone on the 200 block of Shadowood Lane reported a raccoon in their front yard acting strange, according to police. Responding officers killed the raccoon on site and prepared the carcass for disposal, police say.
Lock In
On July 26, someone on the 0-10 block of Country Lane reported her electricity had gone out and she was stuck in the garage, according to police. ComEd was in the area that day performing tree removal and had informed nearby residents of a planned power outage, according to the report. An officer found the woman and manually opened the garage door to let her out, police say.
Highway Traveler
On July 25, officers responded to reports of a man with two backpacks walking northbound along the Edens Expressway, according to police. Officers found a 51-year-old man from Canada who said he was walking back to Canada, police say. Officers told the man not to walk along the highway, according to the report.
Suspended Drivers License
On July 24, officers charged Michael D. DeJoseph, 20, of Grayslake, with unlawful use of a weapon for possession of metal knuckles and driving with a suspended license, according to police.
Excessive Speeding
On July 24, officers charged Pawel D. Szczepanczyk, of Northbrook, for excessive speeding, according to police. He was travelling on his motorcycle 88mph in a 55mph zone, police say.
