Eight Treasures of Art: In Depth

Immerse yourself in eight provocative, appealing works!  Begin in the 5th century BCE with the rare and wondrous, and only recently discovered, nude Greek bronze Riace Warriors in Reggio Calabria. On to Hieronymus Bosch's iconic Garden of Earthly Delights. Revisit Michelangelo Buonarroti's mighty Moses. Hear the astounding story of the re-creations of Leonardo da Vinci's destroyed 20 Foot Horse in Grand Rapids and Milan. See a dramatic work by baroque artist Caravaggio. Enjoy all the characterizations in August Renoir's Lunch of the Boating Party. Learn about Malvina Hoffman's 60 figure Hall of Man (Field Museum). And, end with Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate (The Bean), a favorite attraction of Millennium Park.  Claire Cross, Art Historian, presents the program.
