On the article Inovasi Owner Explains Why Royce Closed

I'm with Amy Jackson. We're regulars at Inovasi, have brought food writers and out-of-towners through Inovasi and everyone loves it. I don't get all the people hating on the food at Royce. These two chefs (John and Phil Rubino) have chops enough that they did a dinner at the James Beard House in New York last fall. Every burger I had at Royce was cooked perfectly to medium rare, sometimes I marveled at just how perfect they did it. My kids loved the place and were on a first-name basis with the staff. Yes, depending on what you ordered, it wasn't "cheap", but they adjusted the menu frequently to offer options like sharing side dishes and more entrees. I guess y'all can go back to eating stomach-distressing cheap burgers at Fuddruckers, I'll keep driving to Lake Bluff (where at Inovasi, Tuesday night burger night seems to be packed).

ReplyYeah I don't get why it is a $70 MM project. Trains all over the world have wifi already, some for five years.

ReplyAs long as the reconcepting includes redecoration, I hope that Mr. Brittsan succeeds in realizing his new vision. As a foodie I am disappointed that Highland Park can't seem to sustain creative restaurants - other than Abigail's, which seems to be doing very well - but at least the restauranteurs are trying and finding the right place.

Beth,
I personally have had FOIA requests denied. Not sure what basis you claim that they can't be - there are dozens of reasons they can be rejected.
Further, I have seen the documents personally on the issues I mention. I haven't had the time to dig in personally to find out why the situation is the way it is, but for one I can be quite certain there is an issue with cash expenditure documentation.

Thanks for that comment. I think I did in fact see the candidates as real people. Who do you feel that isn't the case for and why?

I have heard off the record of denied FOIA requests, missing receipts, and poor expense management. All of that seems worth the idea of a thorough examination of the books.

I am not an investor. On Saturday night, every single table was taken and the bar was standing room only when we left at 7 PM.
