Senior Fitness Start Up! Begins Wednesday
Organizers say exercise class fills a true need for programs designed specifically for seniors on the North Shore.
North Shore senior citizens are invited to take part in the Senior Fitness Start Up! at Glencoe Park District's Takiff Center starting Wednesday, July 11. The fitness class, sponsored by Family Service of Glencoe and the Glencoe Park District, will be taught by nationally certified fitness coach Mark Cibrario. "When I was speaking to a group recently about aging well, the seniors I was with expressed a need for a class just like this, and Mark was strongly recommended due to his background working with senior fitness," said Joan Merlo, LCSW at Family Service of Glencoe. National Aging Organization Tweets it Up In Town
OASIS and the North Shore Senior Center are looking for your tweets.
Older adults in the northern suburbs have long enjoyed programs presented by OASIS, a national organization that promotes successful aging through lifelong learning, health programs and volunteer engagement. And now you can make a difference in 140 characters or less. On July 26, the Twitterverse will have a chance to vote for their favorite health-related charity through Sam's Club "Giving Made Simple" fundraiser. The North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) hopes to benefit through OASIS, this year’s charity for adults over 50. Each tweet will raise the organization $5.
