Northfield Says Goodbye to Oreo Headquarters
When Kraft divides into two companies, the snack foods will be based in Deerfield.
Deerfield will be the new home of Mondelez International, Inc., when Northfield based Kraft Foods divides into two separate companies later this year, according to spokesperson Michael Mitchell. Mondelez will become the company of brands like Oreo cookies, Maxwell House coffee, Trident gum and Kraft cheeses while Kraft Foods Group, Inc. will remain at the current Northfield headquarters and be responsible for grocery products. The move will bring several hundred new jobs to Deerfield, according to Mitchell. The Village was chosen for several reasons including infrastructure, access to O’Hare International Airport and convenience to employees and their families.
