Late Rally Comes Up Short for Loyola Football

Loyola came up a bit short in their quest to return to the Class 8A state finals. The Ramblers staged a late fourth quarter rally, only to drop a 27-24 decision to Glenbard North in the semifinals Saturday In Wilmette. “I am really proud of our boys,” Loyola coach John Holocek said. “We made some mistakes early and fell behind. But the boys never quit up until the end.” Loyola fell behind 14-0 late in the first half until a 25-yard field goal by the Ramblers’ Mike Kurzydlowski with five seconds left in the half cut the margin to 14-3.
