Northfield Business Busted for Prostitution

A woman allegedly agreed to perform a sex act in exchange for money.

Northfield police officers arrested a Chicago woman on July 1 after she allegedly agreed to perform a sex act on an officer while he was undercover. Another Chicago woman was charged with running a house of prostitution. Fei He, 41, was charged with prostitution while acting as a massage therapist at Elia Wellness Center (1845 Oak St.). The owner, Min Sun, 38, was charged with operating a house of prostitution, which is a misdemeanor.  "A lot of other villages are having these," said Northfield Police Chief William Lustig. "You shut them down, and they go to another town, so that's what we're seeing across this area." Lustig said this is the third prostitution bust in Northfield. Two other incidents occurred on Sept. 10, 2010, when police …

Northfield Prostitute to Enroll in Diversion Program

A judge ordered Maria Alexander to enroll in a Cook County-sponsored diversion program, part of a one-year-old ordinance created to bring down the number of prostitutes, pimps and johns.

Northfield resident Maria Alexander appeared in court Tuesday to face a ruling on two prostitution counts she received Sept. 10 following a Glenview-Northfield joint police sting. The judge ordered Alexander to enroll in a Cook County diversion program, and her case will be revisited on Feb. 2, 2011. Last month, Alexander was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for committing prostitution and a Class 4 felony for keeping a place of prostitution. The bust was, in some ways, a matter of happenstance. About a week after the Glenview Police Department discovered a Craigslist sex-work ad with a Northfield location, Craigslist was forced to take down its "Adult Services" listings. The takedown followed a series of complaints from U.S. attorneys …

Northfield Blotter: Suspicious Mannequin, Prostitution Charge

A recap of crimes reported in Northfield from Sept. 6-14.

The following items are taken from the Northfield Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Prostitution Charge Maria Alexander, 55, of Northfield, was arrested and charged with prostitution and keeping a house of prostitution on Sept. 10 around 3 p.m. Alexander was busted after offering to perform sexual penetration on an undercover officer for $200, according to the police report. Upon arrest, she told officers she had been servicing clients in her home on the 1700 block of Northfield Square for the past year and a half. She was released on a $1,000 I-bond; her court date is set …
