9 Vehicles Burglarized on Riverside Drive, Pistol Stolen from Northfield Home

For questions about this blotter, contact: Chi-an.Chang@Patch.com.  Earlier: Northfield Police Investigating 11 Burglaries From Unlocked Vehicles Over 3 Days  Theft A 9mm semiautomatic pistol valued at $500 was stolen from a home in the 500 block of N. Happ road between Sept. 24 and Oct. 23, according to police.  Residential Burglary A French door was broken inside a home in the 200 block of Shadow Woods Lane on Oct. 20. The victim told police the front door was unlocked and nothing was taken. The cost to repair the French door was estimated at $1,000. Northfield Blotter: Hit and Run, Purse Stolen from Home

From thieves passing up on GPS and iPass to driving while intoxicated, these are the latest police blotters from the Northfield Police Department.

For questions about this blotter, contact: Chi-an.Chang@Patch.com.   Earlier: Underage Drinking Party, Hit and Run and More in Northfield Blotter Purse Stolen from Home A purse containing cash and credit cards was stolen from a home in the 00 to 100 block of Long Meadow Road on Oct. 3. The victim told police she was outside gardening and had left the purse by the rear patio. When she went to retrieve the purse, it was missing.  The back door was unlocked. The damage was estimated to be under $500.  Burglary from Motor Vehicle Two pairs of sunglasses, gift cards, two iPhone chargers, CDs and vehicle registration were lifted …

These are crimes, thefts and major traffic stops reported by the Northfield Police Department.   Earlier: Northfield Police Blotter: Theft, DUI and Underage Drinking Theft Police said a 17-year-old Glenview boy stole two cases of Bud Light from Dominick's, 1822 Willow Rd., around 7 p.m. on July 31. After he left the store without paying the $35.26 for the beer, police said he drove away with four other Glenview boys, all 17. Police stopped their car and, after said they observed the beer inside the vehicle, charged all five boys with being minors in possession of alcohol. The boy accused of stealing the beer was also charged with retail theft. All five will face a peer jury. Fraud A $1,000 electronic phone transfer showed up on a …
