9 Vehicles Burglarized on Riverside Drive, Pistol Stolen from Northfield Home

For questions about this blotter, contact: Chi-an.Chang@Patch.com.  Earlier: Northfield Police Investigating 11 Burglaries From Unlocked Vehicles Over 3 Days  Theft A 9mm semiautomatic pistol valued at $500 was stolen from a home in the 500 block of N. Happ road between Sept. 24 and Oct. 23, according to police.  Residential Burglary A French door was broken inside a home in the 200 block of Shadow Woods Lane on Oct. 20. The victim told police the front door was unlocked and nothing was taken. The cost to repair the French door was estimated at $1,000. Northfield Police Investigating Three Burglaries

Residents are advised to keep properties locked and keep valuables out of view.

Northfield Police Department is currently investigating three burglaries from motor vehicles, according to a village update.  “These burglaries occurred during the early to late evening hours. All targeted items were in open view,” the update said. “Most vehicle burglaries have one thing in common: something valuable left in the car.”  Northfield police reported three burglaries to motor vehicles between Sept. 6 and 7. The incidents took place in the 200 block of Lockwood Avenue, 300 block of Lagoon Drive and at Episcopal Church of St. James the Less. Stolen items include a radar detector, a briefcase and an iPhone charger, according to police reports. Nearby Wilmette reported burglars have been targeting unlocked cars and auto garages …
