Burglary in Glencoe, Possession of Cannabis

The following information was supplied by the Glencoe Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary A victim on the 600 block of Sycamore Ln. reported that $40 had been taken from her home on March 2, Glencoe Public Safety reports state. It was reported that an individual who claimed to be working for the village obtained entrance to the elderly resident's home. The victim stated that they were in the home for 10 minutes and he said he'd be back in 30 minutes. When he didn't come back, she called the police.  Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia Andrezej Pawel Gebala, 21, of Chicago is being charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, as well as a ticket for speeding over the posted limit, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Three Glencoe Vehicles Burglarized in One Day

Three motor vehicle burglaries were reported to the Glencoe Public Safety Department on Wednesday.

Three vehicles were reported burglarized in Glencoe on Wednesday, according to the Glencoe Public Safety Department. The vehicles, according to police reports, were located on the 700 block of Valley Road (in which a garage door opener was reported stolen), the 900 block of Vernon Ave. (where two CDs and a Garmin GPS were reported stolen) and the 1100 block of Oak Ridge (where a garage door opener and a key fob were reported stolen). All three burglaries occurred sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Glencoe Blotter: Drunk Driver Asks Police for Directions, Moving Barricades

Attempted Theft Munaf Bhaiji, 41, of the 3700 Knollwood Lane, Glenview, was arrested for attempting to sell a stolen 2012 Cadillac Escalade to CarMax in Glencoe at 10 a.m. July 4.  Police said Bhaiji cloned the car, which involves stealing titles or other identifying information from a similar make/model vehicle. The car was repossessed. He was charged with attempted theft and a court date is pending.  Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by Minors Glencoe public safety officers observed three minors moving barricades into the northbound lanes at Lakewood Drive and Sheridan Road at 12:22 a.m. July 5. Officers then discovered alcohol and determined the minors had been drinking. They paid local ordinance fines and were released to their parents.  …

Last week's Glencoe blotter: Threatening Voicemail, Lexus Beaten with Golf Club, Tribune Impostor Nov. 4 Raccoon on the Loose— An official from the Glencoe Public Works Department reported a raccoon was scurrying around the cul-de-sac in the 320 block of Temple Court. Residents, especially kids, should stay clear of the animal, which could carry rabies. For more information, call the department at 847-767-3876. Nov. 7 Threatened Suicide — A 21-year-old man living in the 990 block of Forest Avenue threatened suicide through Facebook at 6:10 p.m. to his friend from high school. Glencoe Blotter: Threatening Voicemail, Lexus Beaten with Golf Club, Tribune Impostor

Oct. 27 Threatening Phone Call — Glencoe police arrested a 20-year-old male at his home in the 2600 block of North Wayne Avenue, Chicago, after a Skokie Country Club coworker reported Oct. 6 that the Chicago man left a threatening message on the victim's voicemail.  Upon arresting him, police said they found a bong for smoking marijuana and a fake California I.D. Police charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment through electronic communications. Yes, bicyclists are supposed to obey the rules of the road but they rarely do. They are mostly a hazard especially when riding en masse. The cyclists seem to have some sense of entitlement to more than their fair share of the road and arrogance when it comes to flaunting the rules of the road.   more ›
