Drug Ordinance Violation in Glencoe

The following arrest information was provided by the Glencoe Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Drug Ordinance Violation Steven Roman, 21, from Chicago is being charged with violating the Village's drug ordinance violation, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Roman was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over at the intersection of Bluff St. and Park Ave. on April 7. Driving with a Revoked Drivers License Gordon K. Braun, 59, is being charged with driving with a revoked drivers license and speeding, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Burglary in Glencoe, Possession of Cannabis

The following information was supplied by the Glencoe Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary A victim on the 600 block of Sycamore Ln. reported that $40 had been taken from her home on March 2, Glencoe Public Safety reports state. It was reported that an individual who claimed to be working for the village obtained entrance to the elderly resident's home. The victim stated that they were in the home for 10 minutes and he said he'd be back in 30 minutes. When he didn't come back, she called the police.  Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia Andrezej Pawel Gebala, 21, of Chicago is being charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, as well as a ticket for speeding over the posted limit, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Mystery Shopper Scam, Damage to Property

Driving While Suspended Gregory P. Bell, 51, is being charged with driving while suspended and driving with one taillight out, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Bell was pulled over on the 900 block of Skokie on Feb. 20. He was brought to the station and released on an I-bond, and his court date is set for March 14.  Driving Under the Influence Leroy Rancharan, 41, is bieng charged with driving under the influence, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Rancharan was pulled over by police at the intersection of I-94 Southbound and Frontage Rd. on Feb. 24. Glencoe Police Rescue Dog from Icy Pond, Lurking Coyotes

The pet dog was chased across a golf course by coyotes Sunday.

  Glencoe police rescued a pet dog from an icy pond after coyotes chased it across a golf course Sunday morning, Glencoe News reported.  Glencoe resident Peggy Bobrow told Glencoe News that she was walking the dog off-leash on the frozen turf of Skokie Country Club when coyotes chased the dog, then the dog was in an opening in the pond with four coyotes surrounding it. The dog was later rescued and rejuvenated with a bowl of warm milk.

Glencoe Police Blotter: D.U.I., Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Driving Under the Influence Carlos M. Wolhers, of Waukegan, is being charged with driving under the influence, a blood alcohol content over .08 and improper lane usage, according to Glencoe Police reports. Wolhers was pulled over on Jan. 19 at the intersection of Green Bay Rd. and Washington St., the report stated. Wolhers was released on bond and his court date is set for Feb. 6 in Skokie.  Suspended License, Suspended Registration, Uninsured Vehicle Thomas Q. French, of Zion, is being charged with having a suspended license, suspended registration and an uninsured vehicle, according to Glencoe Police reports. French was arrested on Jan. 16 after he was pulled over at the intersection of Green Bay Rd. and Northwood Drive, the report …

Skunks Are a Plentiful Nuisance on the North Shore

As grub season peaks in New Trier Township, the stinky wildlife are more likely to be digging up people's lawns and ending up as road kill.

After several years on the rise, the population of skunks in New Trier Township appears to either be continuing to rise or holding steady, according to those who monitor the pungent black and white critters in North Shore villages.  “It’s way up there,” said Katie Sweeney, Glencoe’s community service and animal control officer, regarding the current population of skunks in her village. “The (Illinois) Department of Natural Resources is not exactly sure why.” Sweeney said the mild winter and apparent lack of an outbreak of a disease that depletes the skunk population, like distemper, are likely contributing factors. From reports of eggs being thrown at a home to deceiving an elderly resident. Here are the latest police reports from the Glencoe Police Department.

These are the crimes, thefts and major traffic stops reported by the Glencoe Police Department.    Earlier: Glencoe Blotter: Man Arrested for Domestic Battery, Underage Drinking   Bike Theft An unlocked mountain bike valued at $25 was taken from the Metra station at 724 Old Green Bay Road on Oct. 15.  Burglary to Motor Vehicle Several items, including an iPod Touch, Kindle, Ray Band and Oakley sunglasses and cash were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 0 to 100 block of Old Green Bay Road during the overnight hours of Oct. 15. The damage was estimated at around $800.  Fraud An elderly resident in the 1000 block of Elm Ridge Drive reported on Oct. 11 that someone used his personal information to open a PayPal account. Criminal Damage to Vehicle A victim reported scratches and paint damage to a vehicle parked at Greenwood and Park Ave. on Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. Damages are estimated at $300.  Driving Under the Influence Calvester Moore, 58, of the 3000 W. Hemlock St., Milwaukee, WI. was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage in the 200 block of Green Bay Rd. on Sept. 23 at 2:45 a.m. Police reportedly stopped Moore for weaving on the roadway, and his court date is set for Oct. 10.  Misrepresentation of Age to Buy Alcohol A 17-year-old female and 18-year-old Sean Kane, of the 5000 block of N.
