Two DUIs, Two Identity Thefts: Glencoe Police Blotter

May 11 Identity Theft: A resident in the 1100 block of Pebblewood Drive told police at 3:58 p.m. that she had received a letter from the IRS advising her that her tax return had been rejected because the IRS had already received a 2012 tax return that contained her Social Security Number as well as her daughter’s Social Security Number. -- DUI: At 11:29 p.m. near Eden’s Expressway and Dundee Road, a 41-year-old male from Waukegan was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and disregard of a “No U-Turn” sign. April 28 Suspended Driver’s License: At 11:21 p.m. near Dundee Road and Pebblewood Drive, police stopped a 58-year-old male from Highland Park for failure to dim his headlights, driving an uninsured car and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He posted a $2,000 d-bond, and his court date is June 11. Age Misrepresentation, Traffic Arrests, Warrant — Glencoe Police Blotter

April 27 Misrepresentation of Age: An 18-year-old Wilmette male was cited for possessing a false Wisconsin driver’s license at 7-Eleven, 107 Green Bay Rd., at 11:26 p.m. He was attempting to buy a Playboy magazine. Last week: Glencoe Police Blotter: $4,000 Bracelet Theft, Bike Theft, Credit Card Misuse April 28 Warrant: A 45-year-old male from Shorewood, Wis. was charged with speeding at Dundee Road and Eden’s Expressway at 12:17 p.m. Police discovered that he was wanted on a 1992 warrant from Lake County. Glencoe Police Blotter: Graffiti, Identity Theft and Burglary Charge

April 13 Identity Theft: A resident reported that someone had fraudulently filed a tax return using his name and social security number. The IRS was notified, and police are investigating. The resident said that the breach occurred two to three weeks earlier. April 16 Criminal Damage: A public works official discovered graffiti on a railroad overpass in the 300 block of Hazel Avenue on April 16. Police said the spray paint appears to be gang graffiti and believe it will cost about $100 to clean up. April 18 Burglary: Police charged a 19-year-old Evanston resident for a burglary in the 200 block of Lake Street that occurred on Jan. 26. Glencoe Blotter: Minors Attempt Alcohol Purchases, Plus Cannabis, Burglary, Fire

LAST WEEK: Glencoe Blotter: Burglary, Traffic Incidents, Public Intoxication Jan. 6 Truck fire: The rear roof of a 17-foot truck caught fire on the 600 block of Vernon Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Police and fire personnel put the fire out, and believe the cause was electrical. There was little damage to the truck. Jan. 7 Residential burglary: A victim reported a burglary on the 800 block of Oak Drive at 1:26 p.m. The victim had been out of town since Nov. 9, and the cleaning crew discovered that a rear window had been pried open. Police believe it might have occurred during the burglary rash between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21. --- Improper Backing: A 87-year-old Glencoe resident was charged with improper backing and no valid driver's license at 11:15 a.…

Glencoe Blotter: Threatening Voicemail, Lexus Beaten with Golf Club, Tribune Impostor

Oct. 27 Threatening Phone Call — Glencoe police arrested a 20-year-old male at his home in the 2600 block of North Wayne Avenue, Chicago, after a Skokie Country Club coworker reported Oct. 6 that the Chicago man left a threatening message on the victim's voicemail.  Upon arresting him, police said they found a bong for smoking marijuana and a fake California I.D. Police charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment through electronic communications. I would also like to add there are many fine officers in Glencoe that I know for certain are beyond capable, responsible, caring and would go about these types of situations in a different manner for the best interest of it's residents.
