New Trier Student Approached By Driver, Police Say

The suspicious incident occurred last Thursday. Two other similar incidents were reported in Skokie recently.

Winnetka Police responded to a report of a suspicious incident between a New Trier student and an unknown driver last Thursday by issuing a crime prevention alert to the community. A 15-year-old female student was approached after school at about 3 p.m. by a man in a black SUV who asked her if she needed a ride, according to Deputy Chief Patrick Kreis. The man also asked how old she was and if she was a New Trier student, according to police. The Winnetka Police crime prevention alert says the incident occurred near Church Rd. and Hill Rd. The student reported that the man in the vehicle was white, looked about 26-28 years old, had broad shoulders and short dark hair, and was wearing a "skateboarder type white T shirt with black lines on …
