Six Midwest women on the Cayman Islands. One Argentinian man named Sebastian who's got a thing for feet. Curious? Read more.
Venus on the half-shell. Ursula Andress in a bikini and holster. Daniel Craig in those iconic blue trunks. Colin Firth as Darcy, dripping pond scum from his linen shirt. It really doesn’t matter. The concept that a fantasy can rise from the sea and enter our collective consciousness is as old as mythology and as new as the latest Bond film. Show me a shore and I’ll show you a show. Before I get to the good stuff, of course, I need to set the stage. In life as in porn, you have to have the backstory. After all, no one will ring the bell if you haven’t ordered the pizza. Let’s start by my admission that I’m jealous of myself. I say that as I type from the Cayman Islands. No, I am not visiting Mitt’s bank accounts. That’s last week’s news, …

Officials aren’t ruling out the possibility of a cougar roaming the north shore even though the camera drew a blank.
After multiple unconfirmed sightings of a potential cougar in the north shore, Glencoe Public Safety’s attempts at catching the cat on film remain unsuccessful. Glencoe’s Animal Control Specialist Katie Sweeney said police installed a “cougar cam” at Dell Beach, only to be taken down after two weeks because it only captured photos of wildlife native to the village. And while there was another possible sighting of the cat on Saturday, there was no evidence to prove an animal of that magnitude was ever at the scene. “We actually had a report of a sighting this past Saturday, but our officers responded, checked out the area and there were no footprints,” Sweeny said. “The sighting was reported to be a cougar-sized animal in a tree. Our Everywhere, Everyday Education columnist Linda Semel suggests some beach activities to enjoy with your children before it gets too cold.
One of my favorite locations in the area is the Glencoe Beach, right now, in October, following the hectic summer season. Take a gently sloped walk down the path and access the wide, smooth stone steps to the expansive area from which the seasonal crowds have dispersed. Pass the limestone structure and emerge next to the beach house, constructed in 1928. Sounds of the water lapping at the edge of the sand and migrating birds calling to one another are readily discernible in the quiet, natural setting of the lake's edge. If you have the chance, gather your kids, grab a bucket, take a camera, pack a picnic and head quickly to one of Glencoe's glorious natural resources. Whether you spend an hour or a day, enjoy some of the activity …
