The Winnetka Public Library offers an extensive collection of literature, audiobooks, films and periodicals in its main location. Many other materials are also available at the Northfield branch.

In addition, the library hosts activities and clubs for children, along with book clubs and discussion groups for adults. Classes in Microsoft Office and social networking are also available to the public.

The library's website has tools for research. Library card holders have 24-hour access to electronic resources in history, foreign languages, health and science, business, local history, genealogy, e-books, computer skills, encyclopedias and dictionaries, homework tools and periodicals.
